David and Stacie
We have a new Community Group starting led by David and Stacie Painter.
This group is designed with you busy families in mind. It will meet every other Sunday from 4:00–5:30 beginning May 23rd. We will have child care available for your kids in the 3rd grade and above. This is a 10 week group that will be looking at the book Parenting Today’s Adolescents. Sign up on the web. or email Chad Hardison with questions.

Community Groups are small groups of six to twelve people that meet weekly in someone’s home. They are for adults of all ages. This is one of True North’s main ways of connecting people. We have a new Community Group starting led by Jim and Cindy Relyea. This type of group emphasizes a more in depth look at the different books of the Bible, and will meet on Thursday nights at 7:30 in Middle Island starting March 25.
If you would like to sign up fill out our online form.

The following is an awesome outreach opportunity being put together by our college & young adults. If you have additional questions please contact Dan Fruhauf or Matt Senior.
College and Young Adult Outreach to the Homeless of NYC Subways
This is an initiative to lend a warm hand to people in bitter need. During the cold months of the year the Subways of New York grow in number of homeless people seeking shelter and especially warmth. It is a blessing and an opportunity to serve these people who need love and compassion.
On November 15th and 22nd, we are looking to invite you to donate sleeping bags that will be delivered and handed out to the homeless in the NYC subways. Since True North is the kind of church that gives overwhelmingly, we will be asking no more than two per family, and no more than one donation per person. There will also be a sign up sheet at the info table for any college or young adults looking to participate in the delivering of the sleeping bags. The distribution date will be on Friday, December 4th. We will be meeting in Penn Station at 9pm at the main terminal.
Here’s a video explaining the idea behind our new community group Invisible Moms. For more info see the previous post.

Come check out a community group that exists to shed light on what God says about your role as a woman, wife and mother. Invisibility is not a disease erasing your life, but an opportunity to play an important role in God’s story. He sees your daily sacrifices and the hard work you put forth that goes without recognition or credit. You may feel invisible, but God sees you even in the most inner part.
The Invisible Moms group starts on Wednesday, October 7th at 7 PM, and will continue the first & third Wednesday of the month along with occasional events and activities. This group is open to moms with kids in 5th grade & younger. If you would like more information on this group, or would like to join, send an email to Chris Brennan.

Starting Point is a 10 week conversational small group environment where people can explore faith and experience community. The next group is beginning Tues. September 22nd 7:30PM at Pastor Bert’s home. If you are interested please contact Pastor Bert or sign up at the info table on Sunday.
